About me

Olesya was born 1984 in Saratov (Russia). Between 1991 and 2003, she attended music school and college in her home town. In 2008, she successfully finished her studies at the Saratov Conservatory with distinction (with Prof. Asya Kireeva and Anatoly Katz) and got qualifications in music education, chamber music, collaborative piano and as a soloist.

In June 2010, Olesya got a Master of Arts in Music Performance (with distinction) from the Zurich University of the Arts (Prof. Homero Franchesch). In November 2012, she obtained a Master of Specialized Music Performance (Solistendiplom) with Strawinsky’s „Concerto pour piano et instruments à vent“, also in Zurich.

Already back in 1999, she obtained a honour diploma and the award for the youngest pianist at the international EPTA competition in Croatia. In 2001, she obtained a grant from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and performed in concerts in Moscow as well as other Russian cities. In Saratov, she performed with the Saratov Symphony Orchestra. Between 2001 and 2006, she won various national competitions and in 2007, she won the third prize at the international piano competition in Bremen, Germany, as well as a special award for the interpretation of Rachmaninoff’s Etudes Tableaux op. 33. In 2010, she won a grant competition of the Marguerite Meister foundation.

Olesya currently lives in Winterthur (Switzerland) and performs solo and in chamber music ensembles. She regularly performs in Switzerland and internationally, e.g. in Germany, France, Finland, Russia. She also works as a private teacher.
